Göran Sundberg

GÖRAN SUNDBERG has been designing for his own brand for 15 years while being a Senior Lecturer in fashion design at Beckmans College of Design. He is also a fashion writer, consultant, and researcher, and has been the editor-in-chief for the Swedish trade journal Habit. His assignments include a national survey of Swedish fashion design (Mode Svea), commissioned by the National Council for Architecture, Form and Design, and recurrent participation in several design juries. His designs have been featured in a number of fashion exhibitions in Sweden and abroad. 

Current designs explore other ways to think about garments. The collections under the name UN Universalist, encourage a more flexible relation to clothes – clothes that may be shared and recycled. UN stands for one garment, one size, one layer (and all genders). The collection pieces function like communal garments, like aprons in a kitchen or raincoats in a summer house, but are fashions that minimize materials and maximize style. UN Universalist is also a way to experiment with ownership and a more sustainable fashion concept. The most recent designs have also introduced formalistic experiments with materials and shapes into archetypical garments in minimal shades.
