Guillaume Larquemain
The namesake brand Guillaume Larquemain is an apple skin luxury goods brand, founded in 2021. Graduated from the famous “école Boulle” in Paris, the designer explores emerging bio-materials as well as augmented reality. The first bag was born from innovation during a lockdown: to sew flexible wood with apple skin canvas. Its design plays with various scales in search of greater freedom of movement. The collection signature is a minimal-design label, with a sustainable and inclusive approach. Guillaume makes the conscious choice of a “made in France” collection. The entire collection is handcrafted.
As Guillaume says in an interview: As an independent startup, I was often advised to produce abroad. But my work is human-sized. I would rather collaborate with a "living heritage company" for instance with the production of the cap in my collection. This allows me to highlight the work of women and men with unique Savoir-faire.
I believe the future is vegetal. This is why I explore emerging bio-materials. Highly influenced by Japanese culture, the Bonsai tree has become my signature. A minimal design aimed at modern citizens, in a search of their own nature.
