LEBLANCSTUDIOS
LEBLANCSTUDIOS is a caribbean brand from santo domingo founded in 2014 by Angelo Beato & Yamil Arbaje. With an awareness of globalization, highlighting personal identity and the blend of races, LEBLANCSTUDIOS strives to become a social, cultural and political movement that empowers a generation of young people across all continents to express themselves. The brand aims to redefine a new caribbean masculinity and femininity to the fashion landscape. Following the collection singular unity presented in the Dominican Republic in 2017, LEBLANCSTUDIOS was a finalist at the IberoAmerican Design Biennial in Madrid, 2018.
With the collection 'Murder is my business', the brand was invited to design a collection for the memorial museum of the Dominican resistance. Afterwards, in 2019 they held a TEDxYouth talk in Santo Domingo, where the founders discussed generating culture through fashion. That same year, Yamil Arbaje was an award winner of the fashion scholarship fund with his project Calvin Klein Jeans x Dollar Tree.
Later in 2020, Yamil’s graduate collection work was selected among the best design portfolios by 1Granary x Pinterest of 2020.
In addition LEBLANCSTUDIOS work has been featured in different local newspapers of the Dominican Republic and internationally in Vogue Thailand, office magazine, models.com, No Kill Mag, 1granary, Dazed Magazine and Odda Magazine.
