Sofie Wallenius

Sofie Wallenius is a Designer och cabinetmaker, who graduated from HDK - Academy of design and crafts in 2019. Through Sofie's design, she wants to integrate with people and attract curiosity. The feeling Sofie wants to convey is often expressed through the unexpected in an object that can be the choice of material, color, and shape. Sofie often works sculpturally, and her biggest inspiration is desire. She is driven by challenging and testing the limits of what a classic piece of furniture should be. Creating balance and imbalance is a way for her to test limits. 

This is a collection called “Frame Shaming”, which is an exploratory project about how furniture can represent our different personalities and appearances. This project is inspired by body shaming and the quote “what if someone sees that I am humane?”
