Lamie Saif
Lamie Saif, a visionary artist, embarked on their photographic journey in 1975. Through self-learning, they achieved mastery in photography, earning accolades in state-level competitions in Kuwait, including a second prize in the prestigious Tourist Projects Company photography competition.
In 2007, Lamie hosted a solo exhibition in Sollentuna, Stockholm, showcasing their unique perspective. Their digital art was showcased at the Konstnärshuset (Art Project HUB) in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2017. Their photographic works graced the esteemed SALON d'AUTOMNE exhibition in Paris, France, in 2005, 2007, and 2015.
Transitioning to digital art in 2016, Lamie pioneered a novel form of digital art, rooted in photo manipulation and intricate math-mapping techniques. Their innovative approach found recognition at the SALON d'AUTOMNE exhibitions in Paris from 2016 to 2022, including exhibitions in Xi'an, China, and Monte Carlo, Monaco.
Lamie Saif's artistry continued to resonate across global stages, with exhibitions in Vienna, Austria, Seoul, Korea, Tokyo, Japan, and beyond. Notably, they became a Sociétaire member of SALON d'AUTOMNE in 2019 and joined the Swedish Pattern Society in 2021.
Lamie's artistic approach involves a unique form of photo manipulation, characterized by special effect photos with light-based subjects and compositions. Their multi-phase technique combines color filtering, blurring, edge detection, and collage to create entirely new images. A secret recipe produces metallic colors that transcend the original photo, further enhanced by a distinctive math-mapping process.
The resultant images resemble paintings and unique patterns, evoking mixed sensations of 3D, reality, surrealism, patterns, and fantasy, all imbued with a metallic touch. Lamie Saif's artistry can be aptly described as "pixels re-molding."
