VÅR/Karl Grandin & Björn Atldax
The Stockholm-based artist duo VÅR/Karl Grandin & Björn Atldax have been working together since 1996. Atldax and Grandin were co-founders of the clothing label Cheap Monday and responsible for the brand’s unique style and artwork for four years. The work of the duo crosses borders between the ordinary and the surreal. These energetic and prolific images have been featured on book and album covers, textiles, posters, furniture, walls, and in magazines and films. They delve deep into a rich heritage of well-crafted storytelling, abiding myths, and enduring fables. The inspiration for these prints is gathered from the three biblical messianic beasts. Behemoth of the earth, Leviathan of the ocean, and Ziz of the sky.
