HILDUR EVENLIND
With an interest of fabric manipulation and distorted notions of shapes, Linn Stooss who works under the alias of Hildur Evenlind, explores different perspectives of what garments can be. With a focus on gender, gender identity, and norms, Hildur Evenlind investigates an alternative approach to the current unisex fashion, which is consisting of mostly male coded garments, by identifying the need for inclusiveness.
By different methods of constructing garments she use objects instead of human bodies as a starting point to discover shapes relating to something other then the gendered human silhouette, finding unisex cuts that fits male- and female coded bodies. Introducing elements such as female coded garment types, materials and decorative shapes allowed to fit many through elasticity.
