Kristin Boström
After graduating from the master programme in fashion design at The Swedish School of Textiles class of 2021, Kristin Boström continues to explore techniques in relation to a zero-waste shaping method, with the intention to prevent waste and to find new expressions in print and fashion design.
All her garments are conducted from squares, generated through a method called “slicing” and then shaped around the body into silhouettes. Combining techniques of flat pattern construction and draping, she keeps the seam allowance on the outside, communicating what otherwise would have been discarded.
This exclusive collection is constructed in Boström's studio using the same shaping method with fabrics that were created and collected throughout her years at university.
Finding solutions during the process and to re-make materials, provides a sustainable and playful aspect to Kristin’s design process, that leads her to unexpected findings that continuously generates new ideas.
